Cinestyle Simple is an averaged curve. The numbers represent an s curve which flattens the existing video back to linear.

LUT for Technicolor Cinestyle (Canon EOS 5D mkII) - Avid Community

Cinestyle uses an inverted curve to allow it to capture greater highlights and shadows. Does anyone know of a place I can download the Technicolor Cinestyle LUT file that used to be available on the technicolor website? Add the Colour Curve tool after the loader, and then load the lut into the curves by right clicking on the curve window and selecting import LUT.

Several functions may not work. The way technicolor has it set up now is you need to purchase Color Assist which I did but you can only use their curve within that program.

You can then do whatever colorization on it you'd like. It should be possible to write a short script that takes the text file and converts the values to a supported LUT format or set spline points on a color curves flr.

And by the way, what is the workflow you use when using CineStyle-footage in Fusion? They've opted out of offering it cinestyle.,ga you can only use the S curve through the color style program itself. If you apply the inverted curve you'll have a less contrasty image but it's probably foe something like sRGB Work on the plates in the way they are, or do a CineonLog to go from log to lin?

Thanks for the reply! Yeah, my machine always wants to treat it like a Color file which makes sense, but I find Color to be a bit of a pain unless you have a control surface which I don't.

MGA file a text file which is a detailed list of curve points for 3D and a plain text file not as detailed. I was looking into the same this weekend, and if it's not written for the moment, I would try to script my way out of it, based on the txt-file.

How Can I Convert The Technicolor Cinestyle Lut For Fusion

But for smaller DSLR projects that don't require major color I'm not familiar with scripting in Fusion, but Cinesttle.mga just worked out how to enter the numbers into the lut manually doh! I know that I can approximate a curve, but I'd like to be exact, as I'm going to match with some 3d overlay and I figure having both in linear colour space will be a good start.
